  At the end of the Nigerian Civil war, in 1970, the military governor of Lagos - Mobolaji Johnson - decided to host an exhibition football match. This match was to help Nigerian citizens to forget about the war and y to gather funds to rebuild the country. Ghan were set to be their opponents, but after their Independence Day defeat to Ghana,Johnson found a different opponent. Choosing another African state would be more feasible, however Johnson decided on South Asian country India. Johnson felt they would be a walkover and with Johnson's opinion on India's ability being so strong, he enforced some strange rules on the game. The game was to be played barefooted for both sets of players, and every goal the Blue Tigers scored, would count as 3. And if Nigeria scored, the game would be ended The game was underway. and with only seconds played, India scored their first goal.
